In Australia Registered Medical Practitioners can prescribe unapproved medicinal cannabis products for the treatment of eligible patients through the Special Access Scheme (SAS) or the Authorised Prescriber Scheme (AP) or Compounding Pharmacy Access Pathway.
The Commonwealth Department of Health, in conjunction with state and territory governments, has helped coordinate the development of new clinical guidance documents for prescribers of medicinal cannabis products for treating chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, chronic non-cancer pain and palliative care, as well as an overview document which can be found in our educational platform.
If you are a registered doctor in Australia interested in prescribing Medicinal Cannabis to patients, we would like to hear from you. Please get in touch with us using the Register your interest and we will be in touch with you.
